How ESPN’s top-ranked wide receivers did in PPR Leagues after week one

Week one of the 2024-25 season has come to an end. Fantasy managers can now step back and see how their teams might end up doing this season and if they need to make any changes before the season continues. There were a few ups and downs in different positions, but a lot of the top wide receivers stayed steady and did what they were supposed to do. Here’s how they ended the week and what they are projected to do in week two.

No. 1 Tyreek Hill – Miami Dolphins

PPR Week One – 26.0

Week two is about to begin for the NFL, and those in PPR leagues might not be too happy with some of the top wide recievers. Here's how ESPN's top five did week one.

After an incident outside of the stadium occurred, it wasn’t immediately clear if Hill would be playing. However, it was quickly announced that the Dolphins WR1 would be stepping foot on the field and was cleared to play. He had an explosive game in their 20-17 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He had an average of 18.6 yards per pass completion out of seven receptions. In total, he had 130 receiving yards, his longest reception was 80 yards, and he had a TD. Hill is projected to have 21.6 points this week according to ESPN.

No. 2 CeeDee Lamb – Dallas Cowboys

PPR Week One – 13.6

The Cowboys are starting their season with a 33-17 win against the Cleveland Browns. Lamb had three carries for 25 yards and an average of 8.3 yards per carry. The Cowboys star also had five receptions for 61 yards and an average of 12.2 yards per reception. His longest reception was 34 yards, but he didn’t get a TD this game. Lamb didn’t see a lot of action in the second half, but he should be expected to have more of an impact in week two. According to ESPN, it’s projected that he will have 20.3 points this week.

No. 3 Deebo Samuel Sr. – San Francisco 49ers

PPR Week One – 18.7

The 49ers won against the New York Jets in week one, and Samuel Sr. had a solid game to start the season. He had eight carries that led to 23 yards and had an average of 2.9 yards per carry. Within those 23 yards, he had a rushing Touchdown. The 49ers wide receiver also had five receptions for 54 yards with an average of 10.8 yards per reception. His longest reception was 25 yards. He had great production this week and should be expected to continue this, with his week two PPR projection being 19.2, according to ESPN.

Cooper Kupp – Los Angeles Rams

PPR Week One – 32.0

Unlike the receivers listed above, Kupp’s team didn’t get the win. They lost 20-26 against the Detroit Lions in an overtime showdown. Kupp had two carries for 10 yards in this game, and his longest rush was nine yards.  He showed up for his team in receiving yards, though, with 14 receptions for 110 yards. His average reception was 7.9 yards, and his longest was 21 yards. He also caught a touchdown for his team, but it wasn’t enough to win the first game. However, he did have one of the best showings in fantasy for wide receivers. Kupp is projected to have 19.2 points in week two.

Ja’Marr Chase – Cincinnati Bengals

PPR Week One - 12.2

Chase is playing with something to prove, but the Bengals did lose their first game to the New England Patriots 10-16. With contracts up in the air and things still not locked down Chase still performed well. He didn’t have a TD, but he did have six receptions for 62 yards and averaged 10.3 yards per reception. His longest catch was 28 yards, and he remained productive throughout. With the shakiness the Bengals show at the start of every season, striking a deal with Chase should remain a key part of the next weeks. He is projected to have 19.0 points this week.
